From IT through German Corporations to Own Business

My first contact with accounting was already at the Business Academy, but the true passion for numbers began to form later. After graduation, I decided to study Business Economics and Management externally at the University of Žilina. Why externally? Because I was already working as an IT specialist and running a website creation business at the same time.

This combination of the IT world and economics gave me a unique perspective on process efficiency, although combining work, business, and school was extremely demanding at the time.

Experience Abroad: Deutsche Telekom and Coty

The turning point came after my bachelor's studies. I went for an internship in Germany, directly to Deutsche Telekom. I was in charge of the t-online.de portal, where I statistically monitored advertising and evaluated the financial efficiency of individual sections. After returning to Slovakia and completing my engineering degree, Germany lured me back.

For the next 5 years, I worked for multinational giants – COTY Germany GmbH and Dohler GmbH. As an accountant and financial officer, I not only invoiced but also was responsible for complex processes, including travel expenses for hundreds of employees. I learned German precision and systems thinking there.

Return Home and Founding of KUPETA s.r.o.

During the pandemic, I returned to Slovakia with a clear goal: to capitalize on my experience at home. I founded KUPETA s.r.o. and simultaneously worked as a consultant for the National Business Center in Trenčín.

We were not afraid to risk. Our company went through various phases – from the gastro sector to construction and manufacturing. It is precisely because we tried business "on our own skin" (with all its successes and falls) that we understand our clients better than a regular accounting firm. We know what troubles an entrepreneur because we have been one in various industries.

Today, at KUPETA s.r.o., we fully focus on what we do best – accounting, payroll, and tax services. I am proud of my team of 4 experts. We constantly educate ourselves through the Center of Accountants of Slovakia, Business Advisor, or the Association of Accountants of Slovakia.
